HKS Super SQV IV Blow-Off Valve for Subaru Impreza GDB A
The HKS Super SQV4 Sequential Blow-Off Valve is designed for selected Subaru Impreza GDB A models. Its sequential dual-valve structure and differential-pressure control system provide responsive boost release across a wide range of boost pressures.
The pull-type relief-valve design uses boost pressure to help keep the valve securely closed during acceleration. When the throttle closes, the valve quickly releases excess pressure to help reduce compressor surge and unnecessary stress on the turbocharger.

Sequential Valve Operation
- Primary valve: Opens immediately when the throttle closes to release the initial excess boost pressure.
- Secondary valve: Opens when a greater pressure difference is present, increasing the valveÕs discharge capacity.
- Broad operating range: Provides controlled blow-off operation from low boost through to high boost without requiring conventional spring adjustment.
How the System Works
Accelerator On Ð Valves Closed
As boost pressure rises, pressure is applied to both the primary and secondary valves. Increasing boost pressure helps hold the valves closed and reduces the risk of leakage.
Accelerator Off Ð Primary Valve Opens
When the throttle closes, a pressure difference opens the primary valve and creates the initial boost-pressure discharge.
Accelerator Off Ð Secondary Valve Opens
As the pressure difference increases, the primary valve pulls the larger secondary valve open, providing additional boost-pressure discharge.
